about

Finally, I'm releasing this third track of the series of three on August 9, 2020, to commemorate the atomic bombing of Nagasaki 75 years ago. My grandfather, Lovell Cardenas, was an engineer who contributed work to the Manhattan Project, the effort to design and build the first atomic bombs. For me, this song bears within it an equal measure of grief and hope. I grieve what my country did to the people of Nagasaki and Hiroshima in dropping the atomic bombs, and I hope that the bombing of Nagasaki remains forever the last military use of a nuclear weapon.
